Namibia Travel Agent Training Programme
One chance to learn the trade and its secrets. Three months online: watch the videos, join the workshop and be mentored. The fourth month is practical training on a real road tour. You leave with a certificate and a job log, ready to look for a job or to start your own business.
Three months online. One month on the road. For ages 18 to 25.
Why this Training?
Namibia’s tourism market is large and still growing, yet few young people hold a real share of it. This workshop trains you to organise tours, give basic guiding and driving around the country, run a travel desk and support the operators already in the market.
Namibia Travel Agent is a travel agency and tour operator. The master classes follow what the industry needs, including the tricks of the trade. You leave knowing what the work involves.

The Training
These are the training sessions, workshops and master classes in the programme. You will be trained on the demands of the Namibia tourism market: the routes, the bookings, the vehicles and the guest. Every class is practical, and it follows what operators are doing on the ground now.

Guide
Learn the route. Brief the guest. Lead the day.
You will learn to brief a guest, read a route and lead a day across the dunes, the coast, Etosha and the Kavango. The work covers park rules, guest care and what a guide may and may not promise. By the fourth month you will brief a real guest, not a classroom one.

Tour Operator
Plan the trip. Price it. Run it.
You will learn to plan a trip, price it and run it as a small operator. The work covers distances, fuel, permits and what to do when a booking or a vehicle fails. The aim is a person who can price a trip and stand by it when the day changes.

Travel Agent
Take the enquiry. Build the trip. Confirm booking.
You will learn to take an enquiry, build a 7, 10 or 14 day itinerary and confirm the booking. The work covers deposits, lodges, self-drive options and the messages that close a sale.

Camping Car Fleet
Hand over the vehicle. Keep the guest safe.
You will learn to hand over a camping vehicle, complete the condition report and support the guest on the road. The work covers the rooftop tent, gravel driving, fuel stops and a simple breakdown. You will do a real handover before you are signed off.
What to learn in 4 Months?

Month 1
Tourism Foundations
Explore Namibia’s destinations, tourism careers, customer service and basic itinerary planning.

Month 2
Travel Planning & Operations
Learn package costing, quotations, bookings and camping equipment preparation.

Month 3
Business & Tour Preparation
Develop skills in tourism marketing, booking administration, basic guiding and guest briefings.
Month 4
Drive the route, and learn by doing the work in real time.
The fourth month takes you out of the classroom and onto the road. You join a live tour, drive the route, and learn by doing the work in real time. Guest care, basic guiding, camping setup and daily operations are practised with a mentor beside you. You see what travellers want, how a day actually runs, and what the road demands. Everything you do is recorded in your practical logbook. This is where the training becomes experience.
